This twist on the classic cheeseburger is a treat for the kids, who love to watch the cheese stretch when they pull their servings from the baking dish. If you want to count on leftovers, make extra.
Cheeseburgers
1 Tbsp canola oil
2 lbs lean ground beef
1/2 medium white onion, diced
2 tsp Head Country Championship Original Seasoning
1 1/4 cups Head Country Original BBQ Sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
12 Hawaiian Roll Sliders
Glaze
1/4 cup butter melted
1 tsp Head Country Championship Original Seasoning
1 Tbsp packed brown sugar
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Preheat the oven to 350˚F. Grease a 8x13-inch baking dish lightly with cooking spray or butter.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add ground beef, diced onion, and Head Country Championship Original Seasoning. Cook until meat is browned and cooked through, and the onion is translucent. This will take about 5 to 7 minutes.
Drain any excess liquid completely. Add BBQ sauce to the meat mixture, stirring to coat. Set aside.
Slice the rolls in half lengthwise. Place in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Top bottom halves of rolls with beef mixture in an even layer, then top evenly with cheese. Top with the other half of the rolls.
In a small bowl, stir together the ingredients for the glaze. Brush the tops of the rolls with the butter liberally (you can also just pour it on top!).
Bake, covered with foil, for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until browned on top and cheese is melted.
Slice and serve hot with extra BBQ sauce!
