Pork steaks are one of the best bites off the grill. Not only are they full of BBQ flavor, but they're easy on the budget, too. We give instructions for how to make pork steaks on your grill or in your oven so you can enjoy them no matter the weather.
4 pork steaks (bone-in pork shoulder cut into steaks measuring ¾-1 inch
4 Tbsp. (plus extra) Head Country Championship Seasoning, The Original
3 C. Head Country Bar-B-Q Sauce, The Original
1 C. light beer
Season pork steaks on all sides with Head Country Championship Seasoning. Depending on the size of your steaks, you may require more than 4 Tbsp.
Place seasoned steaks in a storage bag and allow to rest in refrigerator at least 3 hours, or overnight.
OVEN INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Sear steaks in a large cast-iron skillet.
Combine Head Country Bar-B-Q Sauce and beer in a large foil pan. Add seared steaks to pan. Add more sauce and beer if needed to completely cover the steaks.
Allow steaks to braise in the oven for 90-120 minutes. The steaks are finished braising when they are tender but not crumbling.
GRILL INSTRUCTIONS:
Sear steaks on both sides over high heat on grill, right on the grates or in a pre-heated cast-iron skillet.
Combine Head Country Bar-B-Q Sauce and beer in a large foil pan. Add seared steaks to pan. Add more sauce and beer if needed to completely cover the steaks.
Cover pans tightly with foil. Place over indirect heat on the grill. Close grill cover. Cook at a consistent temperature of 350 degrees F. The steaks are finished braising when they are tender but not crumbling.
Steaks may be served immediately. You can also re-sear over open flame on each side until sauce is caramelized. Serve with your favorite BBQ side dishes, and enjoy!
