This recipe offers an Asian-inspired twist on the BBQ chicken sandwich—and looks beautiful on the plate. Pair with some broccoli slaw and some good company.
Package of 12 frozen steamed buns, heated in the microwave according to package instructions, sliced, and filling removed (save it for another dish, like fried rice)
3 C. shredded chicken
1 C. Head Country Bar-B-Q Sauce, Sweet & Sticky
1 package cole slaw mix
Mayonnaise
Large pinch of sugar
Vinegar
Cilantro, chopped
Green onion, sliced, white and green portions separated
Combine the shredded chicken with the Sweet & Sticky BBQ sauce.
Combine the package of coleslaw mix with the mayonnaise, the cilantro, pinch of sugar, and a splash of vinegar. Add sliced green onions.
Layer a bottom portion of a steamed bun with BBQ chicken. Top with coleslaw mix and the top portion of a steamed bun. Serve with extra Sweet & Sticky BBQ sauce for drizzling and dipping.
